Earth Balloon

                                                        March 11, 2013

Throughout the day, all the grades (k-8) went to the Performing Art Center and inside was The Earth Adventure’s Earth Balloon. There are only eight Earth Balloons in the world, so ACDS was very lucky to get to see the world in a new way.
Facts:
  • Every inch is equal to 30 miles on Earth.
  • The Earth balloon is made of 24 panels for each time zone.
  • Setting up and taking the balloon down takes ten minutes.
There was a man from Earth Adventure who came to teach us about global warming and the effects. He gave us some facts about global warming that taught us the consequences of global warming. He told us that 97% of the sunlight bounces off of the snow, and into your eyes, which is why it’s so bright after it snows. Trees take in carbon dioxide to make into sugars, then trees give us oxygen which we need to survive. He left us with a quote, “If a lot of us would do a lot of little things it is what would make a big difference.”
